How do I set up my mobile devise to check email?
Bower Web Solutions email servers are pop servers that work well with most smart phones such as iPhones and Blackberries.
The set up of the mobile device itself is usually best done with the assistance of your provider. They have the technical expertice for their devices and your paying for this support. In
the Incoming mail server (POP3)and Outgoing mail server (SMTP) field is yourdomain.com (that's your actual domain name!)
However, in order to have all of your important emails on your computer as well, you need to set your computer(s) up properly.
Usually,
when you check email account using an email program like Outlook or Mail
for Mac OS X, the email messages are removed from
your incoming email server immediately as soon your computer
downloads the messages off the email server and onto your own
computer.
To
get around this, have your email program on your computers to leave
the messages on the server.
If you are using Squirrel
Mail (also known as Web
Mail) to check email
from work, then you can skip this tip.
Web Mail (Squirrel Mail) will not take
email messages
off
the
email server
unless
you actively delete them. If you DO delete
an email message from Web Mail, it will be taken off the
email server and will NOT be available
for your email program to download.
Once you configure your
computer to leave messages on the server, when you
check email from that computer, you
actually only receive a copy of those email messages.
Do NOT Go Over the Limit (Quota) for your Email Account
Your email account is limited to how much can be stored in your
incoming email server mailbox, so at some point
you will have to remove
some messages, otherwise that mailbox will fill
up. You can check the size of your quota by logging onto the administrative interface or contacting your system administrator or Bower Web Solutions directly if you are on a Bower Web Solutions support plan.
If that happens, your incoming emails will be sent
back to
their senders
with
an error! A sure sign that you have exceeded
your email account limit is if you see a message
such as:
UID COPY failed: Message copy failed:
Disk quota exceeded
or
COPY failed: Message copy failed: Disk quota exceeded

Disk Quota error.
Delete messages from many mobile devices
When you use the delete messages from many mobile devices they often move them to the trash on the server of our email. Users who do this will need to periodically go to webmail and empty the trash.
In rare occasions, certain computer configuration fail to delete
messages from the server with these settings. If you need email
messages sent to one email address to be automatically Carbon
Copied (CC) to multiple users, contact
us to find out how we
can set up an email alias for you.
